Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess patients’ physical abilities and limitations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient goals.
• Therapeutic Interventions:
  • Implement treatment programs that may include manual therapy, exercise, and modalities such as ultrasound or electrical stimulation.
  • Educate patients and their families about rehabilitation processes, exercises, and self-care techniques.
• Progress Monitoring:
  • Regularly assess and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Patient Education:
  • Provide guidance on injury prevention, ergonomic practices, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Foster a supportive environment that encourages patient participation in their recovery.
• Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Stay updated on best practices and advancements in physiotherapy through continuing education.

Tasks

• Carry out treatment programs, under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists, to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities
• Follow through on treatment programs with patients
• Help physical therapists
• Position patients for treatments by chiropractor or machine
• Set up and dismantle equipment
• Clean and maintain equipment
• Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment and instrumentation for re-use according to standardized safety practices
• Process claims such as health insurance or workers compensation
• Maintain supplies
• Connect treatment machines to patients, as directed by chiropractor
• Maintain inventory of equipment
• Perform general clerical duties
• Process files and paperwork
• Schedule and confirm appointments
• Manage routine office functions including reception, telephone and booking appointments
• Teach and/or supervise exercises to patients
• Order supplies and equipment
• Organize and maintain inventory
