Key Responsibilities:

• Laundry Operations:
  • Sort, wash, dry, and fold laundry items, including linens, towels, and personal clothing.
  • Operate washing machines and dryers efficiently, following all safety and operating procedures.
• Quality Control:
  • Inspect items for stains or damage before and after laundering and take appropriate action to address issues.
  • Ensure that all laundry is handled and processed according to established quality standards.
• Inventory Management:
  • Monitor laundry supplies, such as detergents and fabric softeners, and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Keep accurate records of laundry items processed and any repairs needed for machines.
• Cleanliness and Organization:
  • Maintain cleanliness in the laundry area by following sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Organize laundry items in a neat and orderly manner for easy access and distribution.
• Customer Service:
  • Assist guests or residents with any laundry-related inquiries or requests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ensure timely turnaround of laundry services to meet the needs of the facility.

Tasks

• Mix and add detergents, dyes, bleaches, starches and other solutions and chemicals
• Operate machines to dye, spray, re-oil, and re-buff suede and leather garments
• Hand fold and bag shirts, sheets and other articles
• Operate finishing equipment such as steam pressers, and use hand irons to finish pants, jackets, shirts, skirts and other dry cleaned and laundered articles
• Check finished dry-cleaned or laundered articles to ensure that establishment standards are met
• Match invoices or tags with dry-cleaned or laundered articles
• Record damage or improper cleaning or laundering of articles
• Use hand-held steam iron to touch up finished garments and other articles
