Key Responsibilities
- Design Creation: Develop and design graphics for a variety of media, including advertisements, brochures, websites, social media, and branding materials.
- Concept Development: Collaborate with clients and team members to understand project requirements and develop creative concepts that meet objectives.
- Brand Identity: Maintain and enhance the brand’s visual identity by adhering to established guidelines and creating new design elements as needed.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to create high-quality designs.
- Feedback Incorporation: Receive and incorporate feedback from clients and team members to refine and improve designs.
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, design techniques, and emerging technologies to keep the work fresh and relevant.
- Presentation Preparation: Prepare and present design concepts and mockups to clients or stakeholders for approval.
Tasks
- Supervise other graphic designers or graphic arts technicians
- Estimate time to complete graphic designs and illustrations
- Adapt existing illustrations
- Assist in developing storyboards for electronic productions such as multimedia, interactive and digital products and television advertising and productions
- Consult with clients to determine the nature and content of illustrations in order to meet their communications needs
- Develop and produce realistic or representational sketches and final illustrations
- Produce 2-D and 3-D animated drawings or computer illustrations
- Work in a multidisciplinary environment
- Co-ordinate all aspects of production for print, audio-visual or electronic materials
- Co-ordinate sub-contracting
- Consult with clients to establish the overall look, graphic elements and content of communications materials
- Determine the medium best suited to produce the desired visual effect and the most appropriate vehicle for communication
- Develop the graphic elements that meet the clients’ objectives
- Establish guidelines for illustrators or photographers
- Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements
- Use existing photo and illustration banks and typography guides
- Copywrite
- Usability testing
- Process files and paperwork
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design work; internships or freelance experience are also considered.
- Certifications: Additional certifications in design software or design-related fields can be advantageous.
