The Welder is responsible for joining, fabricating, and repairing metal structures and components using various welding techniques. Key Responsibilities:

Welding and Fabrication:
-
Use welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core to join metal pieces in accordance with blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

Cut, shape, and grind metal parts using tools such as plasma cutters, grinders, and saws.

Weld and fabricate structural components, machinery parts, and other metal products as needed.

Blueprint Interpretation:
-
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to determine the layout of metal parts and pieces to be welded.

Plan and prepare work to ensure welding meets quality standards and project requirements.

Inspection and Quality Control:
-
Inspect completed welds for strength, accuracy, and overall quality, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry standards.

Use measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and testing methods (e.g., x-ray, ultrasonic tests) to check the integrity of welds.

Equipment Maintenance:
-
Maintain and clean welding equipment and tools to ensure they are functioning properly.

Troubleshoot and repair equipment as needed to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to safety protocols, including the proper use of protective gear (e.g., welding helmet, gloves, safety boots) and tools to prevent injury.

Follow safety regulations to protect oneself and others from hazards related to welding, such as fumes, heat, and electrical equipment.

Ensure that work areas are clean and free of potential fire hazards.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with other team members, engineers, and supervisors to ensure welding tasks are completed correctly and on time.

Communicate effectively with project managers or other departments to provide updates or discuss any issues related to welding tasks.

Finishing and Detailing:

Grind, sand, or polish welds to achieve the desired finish and appearance.

Ensure that all welds are smooth, even, and free of defects or inconsistencies.

Tasks
- Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
- Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
- Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
- Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
- Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line
- Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a welder in industrial, manufacturing, or construction settings.

Proficiency in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux Core welding.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.

Strong knowledge of welding materials, tools, and equipment.

Ability to use measurement tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.

Good physical stamina and dexterity to handle heavy materials and equipment.

Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications:
