The Building Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the building’s interior and exterior areas. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure a safe, pleasant, and well-maintained environment for occupants and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting floors, walls, and surfaces.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
- Clean windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces.
- Maintain and clean carpets, upholstery, and other fabrics.
- Replenish supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment and tools are in good working order.
- Report any maintenance or repair issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report any shortages or needs for restocking.
- Complete and submit cleaning checklists and other required documentation.
- Customer Service:
- Address and respond to requests from building occupants or management in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure a high level of cleanliness and comfort for occupants and visitors.
- Special Tasks:
- Perform deep cleaning tasks such as carpet cleaning, floor waxing, or power washing as needed.
- Assist with set-up and clean-up for events or special functions.
Tasks
- Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
- Dust furniture
- Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture
- Clean and disinfect elevators
- Handle and report lost and found items
- Provide basic information on facilities
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
- Wash windows, walls and ceilings
- Address customers’ complaints or concerns

Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial services is preferred but not always required.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.

- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment up to 25 pounds.
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to operate cleaning equipment and tools.
Work Environment:
- Indoor and outdoor settings depending on the building’s layout.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- May require working evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the building’s operational hours.
Additional Information:
- Uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) may be provided.
- Training on specific cleaning procedures and safety practices will be provided.
