Farm Harvesting labourer Needed to work in Canada by Kobe Microgreens and Greenhouses Ltd.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the harvesting of crops, including fruits, vegetables, or grains, using manual tools or machinery as required.
• Inspect crops for quality and ripeness, and select and collect produce in accordance with industry standards.
• Operate and maintain harvesting equipment and machinery, including tractors and harvesters, ensuring they are in good working order.
• Follow safety protocols and proper handling procedures to minimize damage to crops and ensure personal safety.
• Perform manual labor tasks such as bending, lifting, and carrying produce to designated areas.
• Assist with packing, sorting, and transporting harvested produce to storage or distribution areas.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the proper disposal of waste and cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with other farm workers and supervisors to achieve harvesting goals and meet production targets.

Tasks

• Apply the technique of hoeing between the row
• Clean the crops
• Clear fields of wood and stones
• Cultivate on vertical farming system
• Cut agricultural crops
• Dose water saturation, light and temperature as instructed for crop growth and development
• Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market.
• Greenhouse cleaning
• Hand harvesting vegetables
• Harvest seedlings
• Harvest soybean pods
• Monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns
• Pick row and orchard crops
• Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts
• Harvest crops

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in farm work or harvesting is a plus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in varying weather conditions.
• Basic knowledge of agricultural practices and equipment operation is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to assess crop quality.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
