We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Developmental Service Worker to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Support:
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and transportation.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
- Skill Development:
- Facilitate skill-building activities to promote independence, social skills, and community involvement.
- Encourage participation in recreational and social activities.
- Advocacy:
- Advocate for clients’ needs and preferences, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.
- Support individuals in accessing community resources and services.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of client progress, incidents, and service delivery.
- Report any concerns or changes in clients’ behavior or health to supervisors.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, social workers, and family members.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance service delivery.
- Crisis Management:
- Address and manage challenging behaviors in a positive and constructive manner.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies when necessary.
Tasks
- Provide suicide and crisis intervention
- Resolve conflict situations
- Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses
- Assist clients/guests with special needs
- Accompany clients to appointments and social outings
- Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury
- Maintain clean and safe work environment
