Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the health and well-being of cattle, identifying signs of illness or distress.
- Feed and provide fresh water to livestock according to dietary needs.
- Assist with breeding, calving, and herd reproduction management.
- Maintain accurate health records and administer medications or vaccinations as required.
- Operate and maintain farm equipment such as feeding systems, tractors, and fencing tools.
- Move cattle safely between pastures, barns, or feeding areas.
- Clean and maintain cattle enclosures, barns, and water troughs.
- Work closely with veterinarians, nutritionists, and other farm staff to ensure herd health.
- Follow biosecurity measures and farm safety protocols.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in cattle farming or herd management preferred.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to handle livestock, lift heavy loads, and work in various weather conditions.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of cattle behavior, health care, and feeding practices.
- Work Ethic: Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Education: No formal education required, but a background in agriculture or animal science is a plus.
- License: A valid driver’s license or farm machinery operation certification is an advantage.
