Key Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation:
- Prepare the site for concrete pouring by setting up forms, reinforcing steel, and ensuring proper alignment and leveling.
- Clean and prepare surfaces where concrete will be applied, including removing debris and old concrete.
- Concrete Pouring:
- Mix concrete according to specifications and pour it into molds or forms.
- Use various tools such as shovels, trowels, and screeds to spread and level the concrete evenly.
- Finishing Work:
- Finish the surface of the concrete using tools like floats, trowels, and power grinders to achieve the desired texture and smoothness.
- Apply finishing techniques such as brushing, stamping, or texturing as per project requirements.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect concrete surfaces for defects, imperfections, or inconsistencies and address any issues promptly.
- Ensure that the concrete is cured properly to achieve maximum strength and durability.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in concrete finishing, such as trowels, floats, and power mixers.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on the job site.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure that safety protocols are followed.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other construction workers, supervisors, and project managers to coordinate tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Communicate effectively regarding project progress, issues, and any changes in specifications or plans.
- Site Clean-Up:
- Clean up the work site after finishing concrete, including removing excess materials, cleaning tools, and disposing of waste properly.
Tasks
- Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials
- Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
- Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
- Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
- Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures
- Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
- Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
- Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- years of experience as a Concrete Finisher or in a similar construction role.
- Proven experience with various concrete finishing techniques and tools.
- Strong understanding of concrete properties and mixing ratios.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle manual labor and work in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or vocational training in concrete finishing or related fields.
- Experience with advanced concrete techniques or decorative concrete applications.
- Knowledge of local building codes and construction regulations.
