Key Responsibilities:

  1. Crop Harvesting:
    • Pick, gather, and collect crops according to harvest schedules and farm standards.
    • Use appropriate tools and equipment for harvesting different types of crops, such as hand tools or machinery.
    • Ensure that harvested crops are handled carefully to avoid damage and maintain quality.
  2. Sorting and Packing:
    • Sort harvested crops by size, quality, and type, discarding any damaged or substandard produce.
    • Pack crops into containers or packaging according to farm specifications and quality standards.
    • Label and prepare products for distribution or sale.
  3. Field Maintenance:
    • Assist with cleaning and maintaining harvesting equipment and tools.
    • Keep the harvesting area organized and free of debris to ensure safety and efficiency.
    • Follow farm protocols for waste disposal and environmental management.
  4. Health and Safety:
    • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, such as gloves or safety goggles.
    • Report any safety hazards or incidents to the farm supervisor immediately.
  5. Team Collaboration:
    • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with other farm workers and supervisors.
    • Assist with other farm tasks as needed, including planting, weeding, or maintaining farm infrastructure.
  6. Record Keeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of harvested quantities, field conditions, and any issues encountered during harvesting.
    • Provide feedback on crop quality and any observations that may affect future harvesting operations.
