Key Responsibilities:
- Oyster Harvesting: Collect oysters from designated beds or areas using appropriate tools and techniques while ensuring minimal damage to the environment.
- Quality Control: Inspect harvested oysters for size, quality, and health to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and care for harvesting equipment, including boats, nets, and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Site Management: Monitor water quality and environmental conditions, reporting any issues that may affect oyster health or harvesting operations.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all team members, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of daily harvests, including quantities, locations, and any observations regarding oyster health or environmental conditions.

- Maintain aquaculture equipment
- Write daily basic progress reports
- Clean and maintain aquaculture enclosures
- Transfer stock to tanks in trucks and pack stock in special containers
- Transport marine plants to processing plants
- Clean, sort and pack shellfish
- Grade and weigh aquaculture stocks

Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; knowledge of marine biology or aquaculture is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in oyster harvesting or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Basic understanding of marine environments and oyster cultivation practices.
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions accurately.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work outdoors on water and in varying weather conditions.
- May require early morning hours, weekends, and extended hours during peak harvest seasons.
- Physical tasks, including lifting heavy loads and standing for long periods, are required.
