Garbage truck driver Needed to work in Canada by REGIONAL RECYCLING WHISTLER
We are seeking a responsible and reliable Garbage Truck Driver to collect and transport waste and recyclables safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate must have a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL), good driving skills, and a strong commitment to safety and service.

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Key Responsibilities:

Drive garbage trucks along assigned routes to collect waste and recycling materials.

Operate hydraulic lifting equipment to load refuse into the truck.

Inspect trucks before and after routes to ensure safe operation.

Communicate with dispatchers and supervisors regarding route updates or issues.

Follow all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures.

Perform basic maintenance tasks such as checking oil, tires, and fluid levels.

Keep accurate records of completed routes and pickups.

Assist with sorting and unloading collected materials at designated facilities.

Provide courteous and professional service to customers.
Requirements:
-
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL); clean driving record.

Previous experience operating heavy trucks or garbage trucks is a plus.

Knowledge of safe driving practices and basic vehicle maintenance.

Physical ability to lift heavy items and work in various weather conditions.

Good communication skills and ability to follow route schedules.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Tasks
- Check, lubricate, refuel and clean equipment
- Operate various vehicles and equipment
- Report any malfunctions to supervisor
- Load and unload goods
- Pick up and deliver materials
- Keep logs and maintain records
- Sort packages for delivery
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
