As a Heating Systems Installer Apprentice, you will assist experienced heating system installers in the installation, maintenance, and repair of various heating systems, including furnaces, boilers, and heat pumps.  Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with Installations:
    • Help experienced installers with the setup and installation of heating systems, including ductwork, piping, and units.
    • Learn to read and interpret installation manuals, blueprints, and technical specifications.
    • Assist with site preparation, including measuring, cutting, and fitting components.
  • Maintenance and Repair:
    • Support the team in performing routine maintenance and repair tasks on heating systems, such as cleaning, adjusting, and troubleshooting.
    • Assist in diagnosing and resolving issues with heating equipment under the guidance of senior installers.
  • Tools and Equipment:
    • Handle and operate tools and equipment required for heating system installation, such as wrenches, drills, and pressure gauges.
    • Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and kept in good working condition.
  • Learning and Training:
    • Participate in hands-on training and observe experienced installers to learn proper installation techniques and safety procedures.
    • Study and understand local building codes, safety regulations, and manufacturer instructions.
  • Site Preparation and Clean-Up:
    • Prepare job sites by laying down protective coverings, removing old equipment, and setting up work areas.
    • Clean up work areas after installations, including disposing of debris and ensuring the site is left in a tidy condition.
  • Customer Service:
    • Assist in addressing customer questions or concerns related to heating system installations or repairs.
    • Ensure that all installations and services meet company standards for quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
    • Follow proper handling and installation procedures to comply with local building codes and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Previous experience in construction, mechanical work, or a related field is a plus but not required.
    • No prior experience in heating system installation necessary; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools and power tools.
    • Good problem-solving skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
    • Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and carrying heavy materials.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Eagerness to learn and develop skills in heating system installation and maintenance.

    • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
