Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of delivery drivers and personnel, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient delivery operations.
- Scheduling: Create and manage delivery schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet delivery demands.
- Route Optimization: Analyze delivery routes to enhance efficiency, reduce delivery times, and minimize operational costs.
- Training: Conduct training sessions for new delivery personnel, emphasizing safety procedures, customer service, and company policies.
- Performance Monitoring: Evaluate the performance of delivery staff, providing feedback and coaching to improve productivity and service quality.
- Customer Service: Address customer inquiries and complaints related to delivery issues, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for all staff.
- Inventory Management: Assist with inventory control, ensuring that delivery personnel are equipped with the necessary supplies and materials.
- Reporting: Prepare and maintain records of delivery operations, including schedules, vehicle maintenance, and performance metrics, and report findings to management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., warehouse, sales) to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistical challenges.
Tasks
- Assign sales workers to duties
- Authorize payments by cheque
- Authorize return of merchandise
- Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
- Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers
- Supervise office and volunteer staff
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in delivery operations, logistics, or transportation management, with a minimum of 2-3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of local and regional delivery routes.
- Familiarity with delivery tracking systems and software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
