Key Responsibilities:

• Safe Driving: Operate delivery trucks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
• Route Planning: Plan and navigate efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations.
• Loading and Unloading: Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured and handled properly to prevent damage.
• Delivery Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts, delivery logs, and any relevant paperwork.
• Customer Interaction: Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing any questions or concerns during the delivery process.
• Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance or safety issues to management.
• Inventory Management: Assist with inventory checks and stock management, ensuring that all deliveries match the manifest.

Tasks

• Deliver and pick up messages, parcels, and other items by hand
• Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products
• Accept payment or invoices for items delivered
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Assemble, install and set-up merchandise/products
• Keep a record of items received and delivered
• Transport and handle dangerous goods
• Accept and deliver messages and packages for events, conferences or assemblies
• Load and unload goods
• Sort packages for delivery
• Follow directions and read map
• Provide customer service
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle

• Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles)

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certifications in logistics or transportation is a plus.
• Experience: Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a related role is preferred.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record; knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to lift heavy packages and operate lifting equipment.
  • Proficient in using GPS and navigation tools.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
