Key Responsibilities:
- Fieldwork:
- Assist with planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops.
- Help with irrigation systems, including setting up and monitoring water flow.
- Maintain fields by clearing debris, trimming overgrowth, and ensuring proper soil conditions.
- Livestock Care (if applicable):
- Feed and water animals regularly.
- Assist with health monitoring, including administering medications when required.
- Clean barns, stables, or other animal enclosures.
- Assist with animal handling, moving, and transportation when necessary.
- Farm Equipment Operation:
- Operate and maintain basic farm machinery like tractors, mowers, and plows, under supervision.
- Assist with the repair and maintenance of farm equipment.
- General Maintenance:
- Perform basic repairs around the farm, including fixing fences, barns, or equipment.
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces, ensuring tools and equipment are safely stored.
- Harvesting & Packing:
- Assist in picking, sorting, and packing produce for market or storage.
- Prepare harvested goods for transportation or sale.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing protective gear as necessary.
- Report any safety hazards, accidents, or injuries to the supervisor promptly.
- Seasonal Tasks:
- Participate in seasonal activities such as planting in spring, harvesting in fall, or winterizing equipment.
- General Labour:
- Perform other farm-related tasks as required, including lifting heavy items, moving supplies, and cleaning storage areas.
