Key Responsibilities
- Child Care: Supervise and care for children in the absence of parents, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Daily Activities: Plan and engage in age-appropriate activities, including educational games, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and reading.
- Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, accommodating dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Personal Care: Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and toileting; promote good hygiene habits.
- Transportation: Safely transport children to and from school, activities, playdates, or appointments as required.
- Household Duties: Perform light housekeeping duties related to child care, such as cleaning up after meals, laundry, and organizing play areas.
- Behavior Management: Implement positive behavior management techniques to encourage good behavior and social skills among children.
- Communication: Maintain open communication with parents regarding children’s progress, behavior, and any concerns; provide regular updates on daily activities.
Tasks
- Bathe, dress and feed infants and children
- Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
- Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
- Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Organize, activities such as games and outings for children
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals
- Prepare infants and children for rest periods
- Supervise and care for children
- Take children to and from school and to appointments
- Tend to emotional well-being of children
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in child development or early childhood education is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as a nanny, babysitter, or in child care settings is preferred; references may be required.
- Certifications: Certification in CPR and first aid is advantageous.
