Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine wiring layouts.
• Install, repair, and maintain electrical wiring systems, outlets, circuit breakers, and lighting fixtures.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, providing effective solutions to problems.
• Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify potential hazards or issues.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to coordinate electrical work with other construction or renovation activities.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, including service reports and compliance documentation.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients about electrical systems and recommendations.

Tasks

• Install underground wiring and cables
• Splice, join and connect wires
• Test and measure voltage, loads, ground faults integrity of circuits
• Troubleshoot and isolate faults
• Install surface mount and/or overhead cables
• Install power generation, stand-by power generation and power conditioning systems
• Renovate electrical systems in residential and commercial structures
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
• Valid electrician’s license or certification as required by local regulations.
• Proven experience as a wiring electrician, with a strong understanding of electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various environments.

Working Conditions:

• Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, in various weather conditions.
• May involve working at heights or in confined spaces.
