We are seeking a reliable and skilled truck driver to transport goods and materials across various routes. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and timely delivery of cargo while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies.

 Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport Goods: Safely drive trucks to deliver goods to customers and distribution centers.
  • Route Planning: Plan and follow efficient routes to minimize delays and optimize fuel consumption.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and perform routine maintenance to ensure the vehicle is in good working condition.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation laws and regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of hours driven, mileage, and deliveries using electronic logging devices (ELDs) or paper logs.
  • Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients and provide excellent service during deliveries.
  • Load and Unload: Assist with loading and unloading cargo as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods

Tasks

  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
  • Load and unload goods
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Pay and receive payments for goods
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous truck driving experience preferred; knowledge of routes and geographical areas is a plus.
  • Licenses: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Skills: Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy loads and handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Safety Focus: Commitment to following safety protocols and regulations.

Work Conditions:

  • Long hours, including nights and weekends, may be required.
  • Travel may involve extended periods away from home.
