Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fittings, and fixtures.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues and determine the best course of action for repair.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and building codes to plan and execute plumbing installations.
- Inspect and test plumbing systems to ensure proper functioning and compliance with local codes and regulations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, contractors, and clients to ensure project specifications are met.
- Provide estimates and consult with clients to discuss plumbing needs and options.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to ensure knowledge of the latest technologies and techniques.
Tasks
- Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
- Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
- Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
- Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
- Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
- Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size
- Review HR directives to assure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Plumber with a strong understanding of plumbing systems and techniques.
- Valid plumbing license and/or certification as required by local regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in plumbing work.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and tools.
- Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends and on-call shifts as needed.
