Key Responsibilities:

1. Route Planning:
   • Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries.
   • Use GPS and other navigation tools to optimize travel routes.
2. Goods Transportation:
   • Load and unload goods from the delivery vehicle, ensuring safe handling and storage.
   • Ensure that all items are delivered in good condition and accounted for.
3. Customer Interaction:
   • Communicate effectively with customers, providing excellent customer service during deliveries.
   • Obtain signatures and payments when necessary and handle any customer inquiries or issues.
4. Vehicle Maintenance:
   • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
   • Report any vehicle issues or damages to the supervisor promptly.
5. Record Keeping:
   • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs and vehicle mileage.
   • Complete any necessary paperwork related to deliveries and returns.
6. Safety Compliance:
   • Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
   • Wear appropriate safety gear and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
7. Inventory Management:
   • Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to management.
   • Help with the organization and storage of products at the distribution center when not on deliveries.

• Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products

• Keep a record of items received and delivered
• Prepare, package and restock goods

• Sort packages for delivery
• Follow directions and read map
• Use maps and other trip planning aids
• Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle

Credentials

• Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or transportation is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.

Skills:

• Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Familiarity with GPS systems and route planning software.
