Network system administrator Needed to work in Canada by Elvin`s IT Consulting

Key Responsibilities:

1. Network Management:
   • Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
   • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
   • Implement and manage network security measures to protect data and prevent unauthorized access.
2. System Administration:
   • Install, configure, and maintain servers and workstations, including operating systems, software, and hardware components.
   • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with organizational policies.
   • Perform regular system updates and patches to ensure security and functionality.
3. Technical Support:
   • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues, and resolving network connectivity problems.
   • Document and track support requests and resolutions in a ticketing system.
4. Backup and Recovery:
   • Implement and manage backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
   • Develop and test disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss in case of system failures.
5. Security:
   • Monitor and respond to security threats and breaches, and implement necessary security patches and updates.
   • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential risks.
6. Network Design and Upgrades:
   • Evaluate and recommend network and system upgrades or expansions based on organizational needs and technology advancements.
   • Plan and execute network and system upgrades with minimal disruption to services.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, system installations, and changes.
   • Prepare and present regular reports on network performance, incidents, and upgrades.
8. Collaboration:
   • Work closely with other IT staff and departments to support and implement technology solutions.
   • Liaise with vendors and service providers to resolve issues and procure necessary equipment and services.

• Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
• Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
• Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance
• Modify Web pages, applets and scripts
• Research and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines
• Respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and Website designers
• Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience in network administration, system administration, or a related IT role.

  • Proficiency with operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), networking tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and transport computer hardware and networking equipment.
• Capability to work in various physical environments, including server rooms and data centers.

Work Environment:
