 Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Transportation:
    • Operate and drive a truck or other heavy vehicle to transport goods to designated locations.
    • Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
    • Follow all traffic laws and regulations to ensure safe driving practices.
  2. Vehicle Maintenance:
    • Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle, including oil changes, tire checks, and brake inspections.
    • Report any mechanical issues or damages to the Fleet Manager and arrange for necessary repairs.
    • Keep the vehicle clean and organized.
  3. Load Management:
    • Load and unload goods, ensuring they are properly secured and protected during transport.
    • Verify the accuracy of cargo and ensure that it matches the shipping documents.
    • Handle and manage freight and equipment with care to prevent damage.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and other legal requirements.
    • Maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and delivery logs.
  5. Customer Service:
    • Provide courteous and professional service to clients and customers.
    • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
    • Address any issues or concerns that arise during deliveries.
  6. Administrative Duties:
    • Complete and submit required paperwork, such as delivery receipts, inspection reports, and mileage logs.
    • Keep track of fuel usage and manage fuel expenses.
    • Report any incidents, accidents, or violations promptly.

Tasks

  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Address customers’ complaints or concerns
  • Professionalism in customer service
  • Load and unload goods
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Pay and receive payments for goods
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Qualifications:
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Experience: Previous experience as a truck driver preferred but not required.
    • Skills:
      • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
      • Strong knowledge of vehicle operation and maintenance.
      • Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record.
      • Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting and carrying.
      • Good organizational and time-management skills.
    • Certifications:
      • CDL license required.
      • Additional certifications or training in hazardous materials or specialized cargo may be beneficial.
