Carpenter helper Needed in Canada By DSG MOULDINGS LTD.

Responsibilities:

1. Job Site Preparation:
   • Setting up and preparing job sites by erecting scaffolding, ladders, and other temporary structures.
   • Loading and unloading materials, tools, and equipment needed for carpentry work.
2. Material Handling:
   • Gathering and transporting materials, tools, and supplies to carpenters as needed during construction projects.
   • Organizing and maintaining inventory of materials to ensure availability and prevent shortages.
3. Tool Maintenance and Setup:
   • Cleaning, maintaining, and organizing carpentry tools and equipment.
   • Assisting in setting up and dismantling tools and machinery according to job requirements.
4. Assistance with Carpentry Tasks:
   • Assisting carpenters in measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, plastic, and other materials.
   • Holding and positioning materials for cutting, nailing, or fastening using hand tools or power tools.
5. Construction Support:
   • Providing support in assembling and installing structures, cabinets, doors, and framework.
   • Helping with the installation of fixtures, drywall, trim, and other finishing touches.
6. Safety and Cleanliness:
   • Adhering to safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
   • Keeping work areas clean and organized to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
7. Team Collaboration:
   • Collaborating with carpenters, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure tasks are completed on schedule and to specifications.
   • Communicating effectively and following instructions from lead carpenters or supervisors.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Attention to Detail: Precision in measuring, cutting, and aligning materials to ensure accuracy and quality in construction projects.
• Teamwork: Willingness to work collaboratively with others and follow directions from senior carpenters or supervisors.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, and construction techniques.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety practices and procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
• Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing job site conditions and tasks as required by construction projects.

• Load, unload and transport construction materials
• Clean and lubricate cranes
• Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
• Level earth to fine grade specifications
• Clean and pile salvaged materials
• Perform routine maintenance work
• Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
• Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites
