Key Responsibilities:

Assist physical, occupational, or speech therapists during therapy sessions

Help patients perform prescribed exercises and activities

Prepare therapy areas and equipment before and after sessions

Monitor and record patient progress and report observations to the therapist

Encourage and motivate patients to meet their treatment goals
-
Ensure a clean, safe, and organized therapy environment
-
Provide basic administrative support, such as scheduling appointments and updating records
-
Follow all safety, confidentiality, and clinical guidelines
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate or diploma in rehabilitation or health care assistance is a plus

Previous experience in a healthcare or therapy setting is an asset

Strong communication, interpersonal, and observational skills

Physical ability to assist patients with mobility and exercises
-
Patience, empathy, and a strong desire to help others
Tasks
- Assist health care professionals
- Follow through on treatment programs with patients
- Help medical examiner in charge
- Clean and maintain equipment
- Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies
- Document patient rehabilitation progress
- Perform general clerical duties
- Process files and paperwork
- Take patients’ general medical and ophthalmic history
- Examine patients’ eyes, conduct tests and use specialized instruments to determine visual efficiency
- Perform specialized eye tests to measure and assess defective binocular vision or abnormal eye movement in patients
