Responsibilities:
- Receiving Operations:
- Supervising the receiving process to ensure accurate and timely receipt of shipments from suppliers or vendors.
- Inspecting incoming goods for quality, quantity, and compliance with purchase orders and specifications.
- Inventory Management:
- Recording and documenting received items into inventory management systems or software.
- Organizing and storing received goods in designated locations within the warehouse or storage area.
- Team Leadership:
- Leading and supervising a team of receiving clerks, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance.
- Providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure team productivity and efficiency.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Coordinating with purchasing departments to resolve discrepancies or issues with incoming shipments.
- Communicating effectively with suppliers, carriers, and internal departments regarding receiving schedules and shipment statuses.
- Quality Control and Compliance:
- Implementing quality control measures to ensure received goods meet company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, procedures, and protocols during the receiving process.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintaining accurate records of received shipments, including packing slips, bills of lading, and inspection reports.
- Generating reports on receiving activities, inventory levels, and discrepancies for management review.
- Equipment and Facility Maintenance:
- Ensuring proper maintenance and operation of receiving equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate department.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements in receiving operations to streamline workflows and increase efficiency.
- Implementing best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving and inventory management.
