Key Responsibilities
- Assistance in Welding Tasks: Support welders in preparing, fitting, and welding various metal components according to specifications.
- Material Preparation: Cut, grind, and shape materials as needed for welding projects; ensure that materials are clean and free of contaminants.
- Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and organize welding tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work Area Maintenance: Keep the work area clean and organized, removing debris and hazards to promote safety and efficiency.
- Reading Blueprints: Assist in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to understand welding specifications and project requirements.
- Quality Control: Help inspect welds for quality and adherence to standards; report any defects or issues to the welder.
- Material Handling: Assist in loading and unloading materials, ensuring proper storage and handling to prevent damage.
Tasks
- Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products
- Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions
- Sort metal sheets and parts, scrap metal and other materials
- Clean machines and immediate work areas
- Load and unload vehicle
- Polish metal products to mirror finish

Qualifications
