Key Responsibilities:
- Crop Management:
- Assist in planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops according to seasonal schedules.
- Perform tasks such as weeding, watering, fertilizing, and applying pesticides or herbicides as instructed.
- Monitor crop growth and report any issues, such as pests or diseases, to the farm manager.
- Livestock Care:
- Help with the feeding, watering, and care of livestock, including cows, pigs, sheep, or poultry.
- Assist in the milking of cows, collecting eggs, or managing other daily livestock routines.
- Maintain clean and safe living conditions for animals by cleaning pens, stalls, and other areas.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems, as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues to the supervisor.
- Assist in the repair and maintenance of fences, buildings, and other farm structures.
- Fieldwork and Labor Tasks:
- Participate in general farm labor tasks, including digging, lifting, carrying, and transporting materials.
- Help with the setup and maintenance of irrigation systems and drainage.
- Assist in preparing fields for planting, including plowing, tilling, and fertilizing.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols while operating machinery and handling chemicals.
- Attend safety training sessions and adhere to proper handling techniques for equipment and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment on the farm.
