Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation and Planning:
    • Reviewing floor plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine the layout and installation requirements.
    • Measuring and calculating the amount of material needed, including allowances for patterns and waste.
  2. Subfloor Preparation:
    • Inspecting and preparing the subfloor by cleaning, leveling, and repairing imperfections as needed.
    • Installing underlayment or moisture barriers to enhance durability and prevent moisture damage.
  3. Installation of Floor Coverings:
    • Installing carpet, vinyl sheets or tiles, laminate, hardwood, ceramic or porcelain tiles, and other floor coverings according to manufacturer instructions and industry standards.
    • Cutting and trimming materials to fit around obstacles and ensure a seamless finish.
  4. Seaming and Joining:
    • Seaming carpet or vinyl flooring to create smooth transitions and conceal seams effectively.
    • Grouting and sealing tile joints to prevent moisture penetration and enhance longevity.
  5. Finishing and Detail Work:
    • Applying adhesives, glue, or nails to secure floor coverings to the subfloor.
    • Installing baseboards, trim, transitions, and other finishing touches to complete the installation.
  6. Quality Assurance:
    • Inspecting completed work for quality and accuracy, ensuring floors are level, free of gaps, and meet client specifications.
    • Addressing any deficiencies or adjustments needed to achieve customer satisfaction.
  7. Safety and Compliance:
    • Following safety protocols and using personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injuries and ensure a safe work environment.
    • Adhering to building codes, regulations, and manufacturer guidelines during installation.
  8. Customer Interaction:
    • Communicating with clients to understand their preferences, address concerns, and provide recommendations for floor coverings.
    • Providing instructions on floor care and maintenance to ensure long-term durability and appearance.

  • Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
