Key Responsibilities:

1. Child Care and Supervision:
   • Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
   • Provide care and support for children’s basic needs, including feeding, diapering, and dressing.
   • Manage daily routines such as nap times, meal times, and outdoor activities.
2. Developmental Activities:
   • Plan and implement age-appropriate educational and recreational activities to promote physical, emotional, and cognitive development.
   • Encourage children’s social interactions, creativity, and problem-solving skills through various activities and games.
   • Monitor and support children’s development, providing feedback and encouragement.
3. Behavior Management:
   • Implement positive behavior management techniques to guide and support children’s behavior.
   • Address and resolve conflicts or behavioral issues in a constructive manner.
   • Promote a positive and respectful atmosphere among children.
4. Health and Safety:
   • Ensure that the child care environment is clean, safe, and free from hazards.
   • Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper hygiene practices and emergency procedures.
   • Administer medication or first aid as needed, and keep accurate records of any incidents or health issues.
5. Communication:
   • Maintain open and effective communication with parents or guardians regarding their child’s activities, behavior, and development.
   • Provide regular updates and reports on the child’s progress and any concerns.
   • Foster a collaborative relationship with parents to support the child’s needs and goals.
6. Record Keeping:
   • Keep detailed records of daily activities, including meals, naps, and any special notes about the child’s well-being or development.
   • Maintain documentation of any incidents, accidents, or health concerns.
7. Team Collaboration:
   • Work collaboratively with other child care providers or staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive care environment.
   • Participate in team meetings or training sessions to stay informed about best practices and updates in child care.

Tasks

• Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
• Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
• Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
• Bathe, dress and feed infants and children
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
• Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
• Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
• Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
• Organize, activities such as games and outings for children
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals
• Prepare infants and children for rest periods
• Supervise and care for children
• Take children to and from school and to appointments
• Tend to emotional well-being of children
• Help children with homework

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
• years of experience in child care or a similar role.
• Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate practices.
• Certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
• Experience with specific age groups or special needs.
• Familiarity with child care regulations and best practices.

Work Conditions:

• Work is performed in a child care environment, which may include indoor and outdoor settings.
• The role involves physical activity, including lifting children, bending, and playing.
