Key Responsibilities:
- Transportation and Delivery:
- Operate a truck or commercial vehicle to transport goods and cargo to designated destinations.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to ensure timely delivery of shipments.
- Inspect and secure cargo to prevent damage or loss during transportation.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe and working condition.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and brakes.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions or issues to the maintenance department or supervisor.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company policies related to driving and transportation.
- Maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and vehicle inspections in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients, dispatchers, and warehouse staff.
- Handle any issues or concerns related to deliveries, including addressing customer inquiries and resolving problems.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Complete and submit delivery documentation, including bills of lading, shipping manifests, and delivery receipts.
- Report any incidents, delays, or accidents to the supervisor or dispatch team immediately.
- Loading and Unloading:
- Assist with the loading and unloading of cargo, ensuring that items are handled carefully and securely.
- Verify that the correct items are loaded and unloaded according to shipping documents.
Tasks
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Mountain driving expertise
- Load and unload goods
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
- Transport and handle dangerous goods
- Operate radio equipment
- Knowledge of highway trucking and associated rules and regulations

- AZ class license
- Air Brakes Endorsement
- Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate

Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience as a truck driver is preferred.
- Skills: Strong driving skills, good organizational abilities, and excellent time management. Ability to operate a variety of trucks and commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Certifications: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) appropriate for the type of vehicle being driven is required. Additional endorsements (e.g., for hazardous materials) may be necessary depending on the cargo.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, as well as sit for extended periods while driving.
- Comfort with long hours on the road, including overnight stays or irregular shifts.
Working Conditions:
