Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the barber shop, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling, and inventory management.
- Ensure the shop is clean, organized, and complies with health and safety regulations.
- Maintain and manage equipment and supplies, ensuring that tools are in good working condition and restocking as needed.
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, train, and supervise barbers and other staff members, ensuring they adhere to shop policies and standards.
- Develop staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak and off-peak hours.
- Provide ongoing support, feedback, and performance evaluations to staff members.
- Customer Service:
- Deliver exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns and ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
- Handle appointment bookings, walk-ins, and manage the customer waiting list efficiently.
- Implement and monitor customer feedback mechanisms to improve service quality.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the barber shop budget, including tracking revenue, expenses, and payroll.
- Handle cash and credit transactions accurately, including processing payments and managing daily reconciliations.
- Analyze financial reports and sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Marketing and Promotion:
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract and retain customers, including promotions, social media, and community events.
- Manage the barber shop’s online presence, including updating the website and social media profiles.
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and the community to enhance visibility and drive business.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards and licensing requirements.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic environment for both staff and clients, including proper sanitation practices and equipment maintenance.
- Customer and Staff Relations:
- Foster a positive and professional work environment, promoting teamwork and morale among staff.
- Resolve conflicts or issues between staff members or between staff and clients in a fair and timely manner.
- Encourage staff development and training to enhance their skills and performance.

Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or certification in business management or cosmetology is a plus.
- Experience: Proven experience in a barber shop or salon management role is preferred; experience in a barbering role is advantageous.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial management, including budgeting and reporting.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of barbering techniques and industry trends.
- Certifications: Barbering license or cosmetology certification may be required, depending on local regulations.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a barber shop environment, which may involve standing for extended periods and interacting with clients and staff.
- The role may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the shop’s hours of operation.
- Physical demands include lifting and moving equipment, standing for long periods, and performing manual tasks.
