Key Responsibilities:
- Material Handling:
- Assist in the transportation and organization of construction materials and supplies.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, storage areas, and construction sites.
- Ensure that materials are stored properly and are readily accessible for use.
- Site Preparation:
- Help prepare construction sites by setting up tools, equipment, and scaffolding.
- Assist in digging trenches, leveling ground, and performing other site preparation tasks.
- Clean and maintain the work area, removing debris and ensuring a safe environment.
- Tool and Equipment Assistance:
- Provide support to skilled tradespeople by handing them tools and equipment as needed.
- Operate basic construction equipment under supervision, such as power tools and hand tools.
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment after use.
- Construction Tasks:
- Assist with tasks such as mixing concrete, pouring foundations, and assembling structures.
- Help with installing fixtures, fittings, and other components as directed by supervisors.
- Perform basic carpentry, masonry, or other construction tasks as needed.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as helmets, gloves, and safety glasses as required.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the site supervisor immediately.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other construction workers and tradespeople.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members regarding tasks and project needs.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Assist with basic record-keeping tasks, such as tracking inventory and logging materials used.
- Help with organizing and maintaining construction site documentation and reports.
Tasks
- Load, unload and transport construction materials
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
- Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
- Help medical examiner in charge
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
- Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
- Direct traffic at or near construction sites

Qualifications:
- Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in construction or a related field is beneficial but not required. On-the-job training will be provided.
- Skills: Ability to follow instructions, operate basic construction tools, and perform physical tasks. Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
- Certifications: Safety training certifications (e.g., OSHA) may be beneficial but are not always required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy materials and equipment.
- Comfort with working outdoors and in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed on construction sites, which may include exposure to dust, noise, and other environmental factors.
- The role may involve working irregular hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, depending on project needs.
