As a farm supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our farm, overseeing agricultural activities, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. You will coordinate with farm workers, manage schedules, and monitor inventory and equipment maintenance. Your goal will be to optimize productivity while maintaining high-quality standards in our agricultural production.

Tasks

  • Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying or harvesting
  • Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • Maintain quality control and production records
  • Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
  • Maintain work records and logs
  • Hire and train staff
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Perform general farm duties

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervision of Farm Activities: Direct and oversee the daily activities of farm workers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to schedule.
  2. Crop and Livestock Management: Monitor and manage planting, harvesting, and irrigation schedules. Supervise livestock care, feeding, and health maintenance.
  3. Equipment Oversight: Coordinate maintenance and repair of farm equipment and machinery. Ensure proper use and storage of tools and equipment.
  4. Quality Control: Monitor product quality standards and ensure adherence to agricultural and food safety regulations.
  5. Inventory and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of crop yields, financial transactions, and inventory levels. Prepare reports as needed.
  6. Training and Development: Train new employees on farming techniques, safety procedures, and company policies. Provide ongoing guidance and support to farm workers.
  7. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all farm workers.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a farm supervisor or similar role in agriculture.
