Key Responsibilities:
- Route Planning:
- Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries.
- Use GPS and other navigation tools to optimize travel routes.
- Goods Transportation:
- Load and unload goods from the delivery vehicle, ensuring safe handling and storage.
- Ensure that all items are delivered in good condition and accounted for.
- Customer Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing excellent customer service during deliveries.
- Obtain signatures and payments when necessary and handle any customer inquiries or issues.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Report any vehicle issues or damages to the supervisor promptly.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs and vehicle mileage.
- Complete any necessary paperwork related to deliveries and returns.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Wear appropriate safety gear and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages to management.
- Help with the organization and storage of products at the distribution center when not on deliveries.
Tasks
- Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products
- Professionalism in customer service
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Assemble, install and set-up merchandise/products
- Keep a record of items received and delivered
- Prepare, package and restock goods
- Load and unload goods
- Sort packages for delivery
- Follow directions and read map
- Use maps and other trip planning aids
- Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Credentials
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses
- Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles)

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics or transportation is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Familiarity with GPS systems and route planning software.
