Key Responsibilities:
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, such as output, raw material usage, and downtime.
- Document and update daily production logs and schedules.
- Scheduling and Coordination:
- Assist in preparing and updating production schedules.
- Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Communicate with supply chain or procurement teams to ensure the availability of materials.
- Data Entry and Reporting:
- Enter production data into computer systems or software for analysis.
- Generate reports on production performance, inventory levels, and workflow efficiency.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor raw materials and finished goods to ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Assist in reordering supplies when inventory levels are low.
- Support Production Operations:
- Ensure production floor documents, such as work orders or instructions, are distributed to the relevant teams.
- Help troubleshoot issues that may arise during production and escalate to management when needed.
- Quality Assurance:
- Monitor and report on production quality checks to ensure compliance with standards.
- Communicate with the quality control team regarding defects or discrepancies.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all production records comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment by following safety protocols.
Tasks
- Compile orders and instructions received from customers
- Track and complete work orders
- Co-ordinate activities with warehouse and production units
- Co-ordinate traffic flow of supplies
- Compile worksheets and specifications of orders
- Consult with production supervisor to schedule production runs in a cost and time-efficient manner
- Estimate type and quantity of materials and labour required for production, construction and other projects
- Monitor production progress
- Prepare and maintain progress and other reports
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; some roles may prefer an associate degree in business, manufacturing, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a clerical or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Familiarity with production processes and industry standards.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with software like MS Office or ERP systems.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working around machinery, noise, or temperature variations.
Work Environment:
- Work is split between an office setting and the production floor.
- May involve occasional overtime during high production periods.
