The Network System Administrator is responsible for managing, configuring, and supporting an organization’s network infrastructure and systems. This role involves ensuring network security, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting issues to maintain a stable and efficient IT environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Network Management:
- Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect data and prevent unauthorized access.
- System Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers and workstations, including operating systems, software, and hardware components.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with organizational policies.
- Perform regular system updates and patches to ensure security and functionality.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues, and resolving network connectivity problems.
- Document and track support requests and resolutions in a ticketing system.
- Backup and Recovery:
- Implement and manage backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime and data loss in case of system failures.
- Security:
- Monitor and respond to security threats and breaches, and implement necessary security patches and updates.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential risks.
- Network Design and Upgrades:
- Evaluate and recommend network and system upgrades or expansions based on organizational needs and technology advancements.
- Plan and execute network and system upgrades with minimal disruption to services.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, system installations, and changes.
- Prepare and present regular reports on network performance, incidents, and upgrades.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other IT staff and departments to support and implement technology solutions.
- Liaise with vendors and service providers to resolve issues and procure necessary equipment and services.

- Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
- Monitor the performance of computer systems and networks
- Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade web server hardware and software
- Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software and operating system software
- Provide problem-solving services to network users
- Implement data, software and hardware security procedures
- Perform routine network start up and close down and maintain control records
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
- Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
- Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance
- Modify Web pages, applets and scripts
- Research and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines
- Respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and Website designers
- Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations

Qualifications:

- Experience: Proven experience in network administration, system administration, or a related IT role.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and security practices.
- Proficiency with operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), networking tools, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to analyze and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and transport computer hardware and networking equipment.
- Capability to work in various physical environments, including server rooms and data centers.
Work Environment:
- Office setting with occasional on-site work in server rooms or other facilities.
- May require on-call availability for emergencies or after-hours support.
