As a building maintenance worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our facilities, including buildings, grounds, and equipment. Your role is crucial in maintaining a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for occupants and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Routine Maintenance Tasks: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as HVAC system inspections, filter changes, plumbing repairs, electrical fixes, and painting. Ensure all systems and equipment are in good working order.
  2. Building Repairs: Respond promptly to repair requests and troubleshoot issues related to building infrastructure, including doors, windows, roofs, and floors. Repair or replace damaged parts and components as needed.
  3. Groundskeeping: Maintain exterior grounds by mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, and removing snow or ice from walkways. Ensure outdoor areas are clean and well-maintained.
  4. Safety Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of buildings and facilities to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and code violations. Take appropriate measures to address issues and maintain compliance with safety regulations.
  5. Emergency Maintenance: Respond to emergency maintenance calls outside of regular working hours to resolve urgent issues such as leaks, power outages, or structural damage.
  6. Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for maintenance and repair tasks. Coordinate procurement and replenishment as needed.
  7. Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and supplies used. Report maintenance issues and completed tasks to supervisors or management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in building maintenance or related field.
  • Knowledge of maintenance techniques and procedures for buildings and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general carpentry.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work at heights as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certifications in building maintenance is a plus.

Working Conditions:

  • Work indoors and outdoors, depending on maintenance tasks and weather conditions.
  • May be exposed to varying temperatures, noise, and chemicals.
